ELV: Date and Time: Not important. GM: Your eyes begin to open, it's bright outside. When they fully adjust to the light you realize you're in a jungle, a fairly dense jungle. You don't appear to be hurt, but your head hurts. Your in your jump suit. You look around to find backpack, it has a basic survival kit including rations, (Yummy), first aid kit, and few other items. The only weapon is a vibro knife. Who are you? - a captain in a military Special Forces unit. You are the first in command of the Black Dragon Team 1. What happened - You and your team were returning from a training exercise in a small spacecraft capable of less than warp speed. The last thing you remember is the pilot reporting problems and ordering everyone to buckle up. How you got to this spot it's unclear. What's next? You tell me. [You'll use ELV's character sheet for skills and stats.] ELV: Aww man. Here we go. and as usual. I like it. A 1 on 1? - Vibro knife is going on the hip. - Craft don't just down cleanly. They make messes. Big messes. Priority 1 - Regroup and reorganize. I'm looking for signs of the craft going down and or signs of team members. GM: [1 on 1 - Wouldn't you like to know] Taking a look at his surrounding, The jungle is deep and thick, the sun shines through breaks in the trees, but not enough to see smoke from the crash rising into the air. ELV: Do I have a parachute i.e. I bailed? Something that would have slowed my descent? Otherwise we have a bit of a mystery here..... I dropped from nothing out of the sky.... and lived to tell about it. GM: A mystery, hugh? No parachute and no clue how you got where you are. ELV: Okay, Tough guy... What are the 'few other items' in my backpack. You're making me work for it. GM: Quit stalling! BackPack Kits include: 1 Flashlight 2 powercells 1 51-Piece First Aid Kit 1 Light Stick 1 Whistle 1 Pair of Leather Palm Gloves 1 Vibro Knife 1 50-Foot Nylon Cord 1 Box of Waterproof Matches 1 Box of Water Purification Tablets 1 Food Bar 1 Blanket 1 Dust Mask 1 3-Pack of Water 1 Poncho 3 days of rations for one person ELV: See that you tell me to stop stalling when I go for the obvious, but in my last adventure I got beat up on for NOT going for the obvious.... Make up your mind. Three weeks later you'll say "why didn't you look up?" Anyway, Transformers -Roll out. I head into the sun. GM: [Gotta keep ya guessing] ELV starts his treck through the jungle. He's moving when his danger sense goes off. Several four legged animals about the size of deer go running by. ELV: Not good, This means they are running from SOMETHING. Using invisibility. # Concentrate/Invis: 9 12 GM: ELV begins to concentrate. His danger sense goes off. Flying just above the ground weaving through the trees are two winged creatures. He can't make out the details yet, but he'll be able too in a matter of seconds. They will flying into ELV if he doesn't move and move quick (one dodge roll required) ELV: They're flying I'll stop drop and ROLL... # stop drop and roll: 10 GM: ELV drops to the ground. Is he spotted? # Easy Prey?: 11 GM: Nope they both fly right by. ELV: I take it they were following the other creatures as a meal? I head back on my way. GM: ELV isn't sure how long he walks but he catches a smell of something that was recently on fire. He comes to a piece of twisted metal. Definitely from his ship. ELV: I'm on the trail. Following it until I hit pay dirt. GM: ELV begins to find other wreckage. The smell of smoke leads towards a clearing. As he's approaching the clearing he hears noises, rummaging and low voices. ELV: Breathing... Scouting to the edge of the clearing to investigate. What am I up against? GM: ELV peeks through the clearing. There are 4 lizard men going through the wreckage and one looking around. They are all armed. The one standing guard has a rifle at the ready. The others have the rifles slug over their backs. There isn't much left of the ship. This appears to the main cabin section. There are no signs of the crew. ELV: Okay, no signs of the crew, means I don't have to pull out a can of whoop ass... yet... I'm going to skirt around them and try to pick up the trail of the crew directly OR in case the Lizard men have already sent off a crew with my team in tow then that trail. GM: ELV Moves out. He finds the path the Lizard men took to get into the clearing, it's pretty easy to follow. ELV follows the trail until it splits off in (Back to the Site East, West or North) ELV: NOT. That isn't the trail I wanted. First I'm looking for the trail my team members would have taken. Is that around? I have tracking. I'll use it if need be. I want to primarily pick up the trail of my team. Let's deal with that first. GM: Actually you have Shadowing not tracking. In scouting the area, the trails left by the lizard men are the only ones to follow. Since you have no idea how you got to your place in the jungle and there were no apparent tracks left by you from where you started it's safe to assume the same may have happened to your team. They are scattered around the jungle. Some things defy explanation - especially if I'm in charge. ELV: Darned it... What? No tracking? Okay. In that case. I pick a place and hide. I wait for the lizard men to pass by and SHADOW them.... GM: Actually Shadowing is for a city setting. But it wouldn't be hard to follow them and stay hidden. ELV takes up a hiding space and watches as they continue to rummage through the wreckage. ELV: Correct again. I should know this by now (stop keeping me in check). Watching, waiting, waiting, watching. GM: They spend about an hour or so scavenging before they suit up to move out. The leader is easy to recognize he's bigger than the others. The two lizard men are carrying backpacks with stuff they pulled off the wreckage. When they move out one Lizard man takes point. One of the backpack lizards is next; the leader is in the middle and the last backpack guy bringing up the rear. ELV notices he's not the only one watching the lizard men. He's can't make out any details but there's someone to the West side of the clearing. The Lizard men are heading east. ELV: I start to head that way using stealth. I do have stealth don't I??? GM: [maybe.....] ELV moves out. The figure is on the move, away from the Lizardmen - headed west. ELV: Okay... Marking mentally the location of the heading of the lizard men so that I can pick up there trail if I need to. I'm following this one for a while. GM: Since, you only caught a glimpse and you don't have tracking, you'll need to roll against shadowing -5 to pick up and follow the trail. ELV: [Hey you need to allow for some character development. The last two missions I was in I did not get any character development points. The first mission (after our debut mission) I can understand, but the last mission I actually found one of the scientists..... Right? In any event I got something accomplished out of our objectives. Hook a bruddah up man, it has been a while.] Roll coming. # Shadowing: 10 # GM: Secret Action: 12 GM: ELV is on the trail of the shadowy figure. ELV: I keep on him, wary of traps or any such thing. GM: The figure enters a camp and stops long enough for ELV to get details. Female - pale white skin, with dark eyes She has a slender muscular build. She has shaved head on the side with a long black pony tail. She is wearing sweatpants-like bottoms with a have cloth covered chest. A male approaches her with the same basic description, pale white skin, with dark eyes. He has a shaved head and long black mustache. The male is wearing the same type bottoms with no shirt. Both have a tatoo on thier chest just below the neck, a symbol ELV has never scene before. They are talking but ELV can't hear them. ELV: Heading into the camp. Yep you heard me right, heading into the camp.... Why not? I keep my hands where they can see them up in the air as if surrendering. My knife I stick in between my teeth to let them know I DO have a weapon. GM: The male immediately draws a rifle. The woman is slowly reaching for her pistol in a side holster. "Who are you and what do you want," he says (in common tongue) ELV: I am stranded here on this planet. Some of the sentient species here just finished ransacking my downed craft. I saw you (nodding to the male) watching them take the Easterly pass. I have comrades missing in action, and as you can see little at my disposal to find them. I would appreciate any assistance you could offer. Even if it is only information. GM: "Actually it was me watching the lizard men scavenge the wreckage," says the female. "You don't look like you're from this area, Xer check him," The female approaches, she checks ELV for weapons then takes the knife from him. "You won't be needing this," say Xer. She noods to the male. "Our other scout reported an encounter and the others are checking it out. You can have a seat until they return," says the male. ELV: Who am I to argue, with a scantily clad woman... I hold tight to the knife and smile (before completely relinquishing it) I say "Well, Xer it seems you would have the upper hand... For now. Is this how you treat all your new comers?". I give up the knife then sit, Where are we, village? Huts? Or just a clearing? GM: [I'm impressed, no shooting, or ninja stuff?] "With the lizardmen out and about we probably would have shot first then figured out who you were," says the male. ELV counts 7 bed rolls on the jungle floor. The male offers for ELV to set on his. ELV: Diplomacy my friend. We'll see where it gets me. "I am honored . I have no doubt that you would have 'tried' to take me out." While waiting I give them some non-critical background info on me and my world... Blah blah blah. Being friendly. After all I need them... For now. GM: 4 males enter the camp one is carrying a female. "What happened?" asks the male talking to ELV. The lead male notices ELV and draws his pistol. Two of the other men do the same. "She was attacked by an off-worlder dressed just like him!" says the leader taking aim. The others point their pistols at ELV. ELV: "Touchy, touchy. It obviously wasn't me. If my teammates attacked either they had good reason or something else is wrong." I toss them my med kit from my bag and say... "here, let me take a look." GM: "We can take care of it," says the leader. The female is laid down on her sleeping gear. She's got a bruise on the back of her head. She begins to come too as two of the men keep a close eye on ELV. "I came across some one spying on the game. He snatched my weapon and told me to walk. When I didn't move fast enough he hit me from behind," ELV: "Look. My team is lost on an unknown planet, and who only knows what it is we've stumbled across. I won't make any excuses other than what I've already given you. We can start by seeing if we can help each other. We'd like nothing more than to be off this rock and on our way, but we'll need your help to do it. We may be willing to help out in return. What is this about a game?" GM: [oops, I meant camp] Hmn. And what happened to him? GM: "He headed off, didn't see what direction. We figured if she was really hurt we'd be able to find him again," answers the leader. ELV: I stand up. "I've offered my help to you in return for help from you. Obviously you don't need any. I have nothing to offer you. Therefore if you point me in the right direction. I'll be out of your hair." GM: "Where you are from, they are quick to react? We hadn't discussed what we had to offer one another but that's ok. WE live here and roam these jungles every day. We didn't pay attention to what direction your teammate went in. But we aren't unreasonable people. Xer, pick up the trail of his friend and point him in the right direction," says the leader. ELV: "My sincere apologies. I've lost my team, and it would appear I've lost my head as well. I don't know where I am, and I don't recall why." GM: "Xer wait, please with yo fine ass and that tiny top>. My team is comprised of the best, they will survive a bit longer without me. Please let's sit. Tell me more about this world." GM: "This jungle of Niut we're Adom and this is the Trace Clan. I'm clan leader Gy," ELV: Whhookay. Well, now that tha's out of the way. I guess I'll have to be more direct. Help me or I'm out cause your wasting my time. "I thank you for your hospitality. Would you be willing to assist me in searching for my team?" GM: [You know the drill - What kind of info do you want? Asked your questions?] "Xer, can help you track your teammate," says Gy. ELV: Thanks Xer, Let's go." GM: [What fun?] Xer takes the lead followed by ELV. She picks up the teammembers trails pretty quickly and easily. "He's going this way," she says. ELV "Hmn, Not bad. You are very impressive with your skills. Tell me about the lizard men. What more can you tell me about this world?" "The lizard men hunt humaniods, looking for slaves to sell. They also look for items they can sell or trade. Greedy creatures by nature. Anyone in the jungle can become prey. Only scouts move out alone, cause we can avoid them. Their trackers are good but not better than us. Your teammate appears be moving towards a town this direction. There are several small town out here and a city along the coast. What else can I tell yet," " 1. How do I take out these lizard men if I need to. 2. What other serious dangers are there here? 3. Weaponry, what is the each level on this world?" "Oh and, lets go bang behind one of these trees." GM: "There hide is pretty thick so regular knife just pisses them off. Serious dangers, creatures at night. The bigger the city the higher the tech. Most of our clan used energy weapons. Some still use black powder. We'll have to keep the conversation down until we get closer to the town. Can't be off my game," ELV: "So does this mean you are accompanying me into town? The company would be welcome considering." GM: Xer and ELV arrive at the edge of town. "Afraid not, we don't travel in town unless the entire clan is present. but your friend shouldn't be hard to find," The town - This place resembles a western town. Building are made of wood, none more than two stories. On the streets about 20 or so people. GM: Before ELV can say a word Xer points to one of ELV's men moving through the town. ELV: I head towards him.
